All Screen Receiver lets you receive video, photos and much more from the All Screen app.

All Screen Receiver is a companion app for All Screen, which is also available as an Android app that supports most smartphones, tablets and other devices. All Screen Receiver is freeware. You can download it and use it as much as you want without cost, and the app doesn’t bombard you with ads. Since it is a companion app, you’ll also need All Screen in order to make use of it.

The All Screen app is used to cast media from one device to another. Casting is a type of media streaming where one device sends content to another and can control playback. Common scenarios where this is useful is playing YouTube videos on a big screen or showing off family photos to a group during a family gathering. All Screen itself supports many different devices and software applications, and this includes Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, Kodi, Roku, Xbox One and much more.

All Screen does this by supporting DLNA, which is a standard protocol for this kind of media sharing. If a device does not support DLNA or has no built-in interface for that kind of connection, then another solution is required, and this is where All Screen Receiver comes in. Note that you can also use this app on devices that offer other solutions just because the pairing between these apps is fast and convenient.

All Screen Receiver can receive everything that All Screen can send. That means HD videos, of course, but also photos, music and so on. Since this All Screen Receiver app is for Android, this setup is designed to share content between two Android devices. That means smartphones and tablets but also televisions and media boxes.

Content can be streamed from the Internet, such as casting a YouTube video. It can also be streamed from internal storage or an SD card, such as casting local music files. All Screen also supports cloud services, and there is specific support provided for Google Drive and Dropbox. In addition to singular items, the app supports playlists, and these playlists can be lists that you organize in advance or simply queues that you build on the fly as you add content.

All Screen Receiver is an optional app in most cases, but even in situations where it’s not necessary, it can make this kind of streaming easier for beginners. The companion app is required in scenarios where All Screen does not support a device, and users should be aware that feature support does vary from one device to the next. Not all devices support all features.
